Why Ireland for Payrails
Payrails is a rapidly growing financial technology company founded in 2021 which provides a cloud payment operating system designed for large enterprises and high-growth platforms. Headquartered in Berlin, it employs 130 people worldwide. The company serves prominent enterprise clients including Puma, Vinted, Flix (Greyhound buses), InDrive, Careem, and Just Eat.Relocating to follow the talent
In November 2025, Payrails opened its Dublin office and moved its sales development representative (SDR) function from Berlin, following initial challenges in building the team locally in Berlin due to talent constraints. After a comprehensive analysis of potential sites, the company chose Dublin as the optimal location due to the available talent pool, its established track record in attracting multinationals, and the country’s stable political and legal environment.
The company will hire 50 new staff in Dublin across commercial and technical roles, over a three-year period. The office in the Irish capital will serve as a hub to deepen relationships with enterprise merchants operating throughout Europe, enhance local support, and accelerate innovation in its product portfolio.
Key local hire sways investment decision
Payrail’s Irish site is led by chief revenue officer Edward Moore, an experienced executive who was previously head of sales at Stripe and senior director of enterprise sales at Microsoft, where he spent 15 years. His long-term positive experience in the Irish technology sector heavily influenced Payrail’s choice of Ireland for its EMEA headquarters.Moore leads Payrails’ global go-to-market strategy and customer acquisition efforts as the company expands rapidly, with year-on-year growth of 700% primarily from EMEA and the US. By 2024, Payrails was processing over 1 million payment transactions per day and was recording net revenues of €13 million. In June 2025, the company closed a $32 million Series A round.
