Pfizer is also one of the leading employers in Ireland and was among the first pharma companies to set up in Ireland, having established in 1969 at Ringaskiddy, County Cork. Today, it employs 5,000 people across five sites in counties Cork, Dublin and Kildare.In addition to manufacturing leading medicines and vaccines, other business activities in Ireland include shared finance and business services, scientific R&D, and commercial operations. The Grange Castle site is part of the company’s supply chain for its COVID-19 vaccine.

The Global Biotherapeutics Technology group at Grange Castle was established in 2006 and is part of a world-leading protein drug discovery unit within Pfizer Worldwide R&D.
