I am getting in touch with you again in light of the Government’s further public health advisory regarding restrictions on movement due to Covid-19.
Today (10th April 2020), An Taoiseach said that the existing public health measures introduced on the 27th March 2020 will be extended until the 5th May, 2020.
The purpose of extending the timeframe of the public health measures previously announced is to ‘flatten the curve’ and allow our health service the best opportunity to respond to the current health crisis and to help save lives.
As previously advised, the Government have compiled a list of essential services which is available here. You should refer to this guidance to decide whether your organisation is providing an essential service - it is not necessary to seek official authorisation.
There have been no changes announced today to the previously published list of essential services.
This is an enormously challenging time for your business and I want to thank you for the steps that you have taken and the solidarity that you have shown with fellow citizens in dealing with this global crisis. These steps are having an impact. By working together, it is giving us the best opportunity to defeat this virus and to allow for an eventual easing of these necessary restrictions.
IDA Ireland are here to help should you require assistance in accessing existing Government schemes designed to support businesses through this time. The supports available are outlined on idaireland.com and dbei.gov.ie.
Finally, I want to pay tribute to all FDI employees that continue to go to work to produce the necessary goods and services that are required not just in Ireland but across the globe.
