Press Release 18 Jan 2019

Dublin, 18th January 2019: IDA Ireland today welcomed the announcement by Salesforce that it is to add 1,500 jobs over five years and expand its investment in Ireland into Dublin city centre. The company will establish ‘Salesforce Tower’ an urban campus of four interconnected buildings located on North Wall Quay within Dublin’s vibrant Silicon Docks.

Martin Shanahan, CEO IDA Ireland said: “This is one of the largest single jobs announcements in the 70 year history of IDA Ireland. As discussed during our visit to the company’s headquarters in San Francisco last week, Salesforce is very familiar with what Ireland has to offer and this announcement is a strong indicator of the strength of the Irish proposition to investors across the world. Companies continue to choose Ireland as a place to invest and expand into Europe and further afield. Since its arrival to Ireland in 2001 Salesforce has significantly developed its operations in South County Dublin to support its international growth. Today's announcement of a 'Salesforce Tower' in Dublin city centre further deepens its commitment to Ireland and the new urban campus will provide the company with the potential to expand its operations even further as it continues to service millions of users across EMEA.”

Minister for Business, Enterprise and Innovation Heather Humphreys T.D., said “This is a hugely significant announcement and a strong vote of confidence in Ireland and what we have to offer. The Government has been making strenuous efforts to ensure that we have the right conditions in place to meet the needs of leading global technology companies such as Salesforce, and this expansion demonstrates how successful that work has been. Ireland is now well-established as a vibrant technology hub, and the opening of the Salesforce Tower campus in Dublin city is a very welcome addition to that landscape.”

Minister for Finance and Public Expenditure and Reform, Paschal Donohoe T.D., said “I had the pleasure to visit Salesforce head office in San Francisco during my visit to the United States last week, and I am delighted to see this innovative company expand their presence in my own constituency of Dublin Central. The Government is committed to growing our trade and investment ties with the United States, and to generating jobs here in Ireland. I am particularly delighted to welcome Salesforce to the vibrant community of Dublin’s North East Inner City which continues to flourish. I wish Salesforce and its talented Irish workforce every continuing success.”
