Dublin, Thursday 5th June, 2014: Today some of the most influential Californian and European innovators, entrepreneurs and athletes are converging on Achill Island, Co Mayo for MAITAI Global an exclusive, invitation-only event for entrepreneurs, athletes and venture capitalists who meet to share their love of kite surfing, technology and start-ups. Those who will attend the Achill event include MAITAI Co-Founders  Charles River Ventures‘ Partner Bill Tai and professional kiteboarder Susi Mai, in previous MAITAI events, companies who have attended according to Forbes Magazine have seen more than $7 billion in exits.

Managaing Director of Voxpro Phillip McNamara said, “For tech entrepreneurs, kite surfing is the new golf. The sport involves a board, a kite, and a 75-foot-long tether. It’s a wind-powered ride that attracts a lot of founders and entrepreneurs from within the global tech community – Achill will be hosting some of the world’s leading entrepreneurs and kite surfers this weekend”.
