June 18th 2015 - Moss Vision Inc. Limited announced today that it is to establish a facility in Roscommon town to manufacture intraocular lenses for ophthalmic industry and Hyaluronic Acid-based viscoelastic to manufacture dermal fillers.

Minister for Jobs, Enterprise & Innovation, Richard Bruton TD welcomed the announcement, saying: “Jobs are growing in every region of the country, but they are growing faster in some areas than in others. At the heart of our jobs plan is accelerating that employment growth in every county of the country, and we are putting in place regional Action Plans for Jobs to deliver on that. IDA has a major part to play in that, and today’s announcement that Moss Vision is creating 50 extra jobs in Roscommon town is a great boost for Roscommon and the entire West region. I look forward to working with Mehul and his team as they roll out this investment”.

Moss Vision Inc.’s Chairman and Managing Director Mr. Mehul Asnani said: “I am extremely excited to announce Moss Vision’s new venture in Roscommon.” He emphasized that the Roscommon facility will be very important from a strategic point of view for the company’s future growth of business , adding: “This investment allows us to meet the demands of our growing business and take advantage of the high quality of talent available.” In fact, he said, the company’s initial start up experience has been so positive that the company is exploring additional opportunities to base in Ireland in the medium term.

IDA CEO Martin Shanahan said:  “News that this well established global company, a market leader in the development of quality ophthalmic products and services, is to establish a manufacturing facility in Roscommon is very welcome. IDA Ireland, in its new strategy ‘Winning – Foreign Direct Investment 2015-2019’ has increased its focus on regions, setting out clear strategies and objectives aimed at achieving an uplift in the level of FDI going into Regions and this announcement is a clear demonstration of that commitment in action. This development, providing 50 jobs, will be of significant benefit to the local economy of Roscommon and the wider region. I wish the company every success.”
