Press Release 04 Apr 2014

4th April 2014 – Dublin - Airbnb, the world’s leading community-driven hospitality company, today announced plans to significantly increase its presence in Ireland with the creation of 100 additional new roles, doubling its current workforce to 200 employees by year end. Positions currently recruiting for are in its customer experience and hospitality teams based in Ringsend, Dublin.

The importance of high growth companies, like Airbnb, expanding their international operations at an early stage has never been greater.

Ireland has built a strong reputation as an international hub for a variety of business sectors and hosts the top ten born on the internet companies including Twitter, Google, eBay/PayPal and Facebook.

The investment is supported by the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation through IDA Ireland.

Speaking at today’s announcement, Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton TD said: “As part of the Government’s Action Plan for Jobs we have sought to encourage more “born-on-the-internet” companies to locate operations in Ireland, and over the past two years we have seen some major successes in this. Today’s announcement that Airbnb, a massive internet name and a fast-growing global company, is expanding its operations in Dublin and creating 100 jobs is great news. I wish Airbnb every success with this project and look forward to working with them as they continue their jobs expansion in Ireland”.
