Thursday, 27th August 2015 - IDA Ireland, the Government agency responsible for attracting foreign direct investment, today welcomed news from Google that Dublin is to host a new Google for Entrepreneurs Tech Hub Network.
The aim of the Google Tech Hub partnership with Dogpatch Labs is to open new doors to mentorship, investment and growth opportunities, and to help developers and entrepreneurs launch new ideas and turn them into thriving companies.
Dogpatch Labs members will now have access to workspace in over twenty cities globally, including Google's Campus locations and other Tech Hub partner sites.
Welcoming the announcement Martin Shanahan, CEO, IDA Ireland said "Google is now one of the most vibrant and largest companies in Dublin, and apart from its large employment footprint, the company is making a substantial contribution in additional ways.’’
"The presence of multinationals in Ireland has a very positive economic impact through employment, the purchase of Irish goods and services and the transfer of skills. Google’s latest initiative, via the Tech Hub network supporting indigenous businesses, is yet another illustration of this contribution,’’ he said.
