Featured Article 02 Mar 2015 As part of an attempt to create something tangible by matchmaking the needs of start-ups with the capabilities of universities, Bell Labs will be kicking off its IP Mash Up this month between 11-12 March, says Bell Labs’ programme manager, Alan Leddy.As a leader in communications technologies, and with Bell Labs at its core, innovation is a key element of the past, present, and future of Alcatel-Lucent. With this in mind I’d like to inform you about the upcoming IP Mash Up event. This unique event is being launched at our Bell Labs Ireland facilities in Blanchardstown Industrial Park, on March 11th-12th.The purpose of the IP Mash Up event in Ireland is to encourage cross-disciplinary collaboration among the research community with design teams to produce valuable innovation and intellectual property.The IP Mash Up will combine teams of entrepreneurs and start-ups with talented researchers, technologists and product designers drawn from across the academic and economic ecosystem. Together, each team will tackle a big problem, produce a solution narrative and wrap that solution with novel IP as a basis of value.The final narrative will be presented to a judging panel of investors, analysts, industry participants and service providers to find a winner with cash prizes.
