This focus is part of the Government’s Action Plan for Jobs. Today’s announcements are the result of IDA Ireland’s new policies in this area.

Making the announcement, An Taoiseach Enda Kenny TD said: "Ireland remains one of the most exciting places in the world for new digital enterprises.  I'm delighted to welcome 335 new jobs in nine companies in the rapidly growing digital sector.  As a Government, we are determined to keep building on the 3,000 jobs being created in the private sector each month in order to get people back to work.  Through the Action Plan for Jobs, we will continue to provide strong, co-ordinated policy support for measures which attract investment and jobs as well as support for the work of the IDA in targeting high-potential businesses which can be future success stories from an Irish base."

Speaking from the United States where he is on an IDA Ireland investment mission, Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton TD said:
“A key part of the Government’s Action Plan for Jobs is encouraging high-growth start-ups and emerging multinational companies to make Ireland a part of their early growth, so that Ireland can then also share in their later success. To achieve this, we have put in place a range of measures, including the establishment of a joint Enterprise Ireland/IDA management team to deal with targeting this opportunity, and IDA’s Emerging Business Division has been a major success.

In the boardrooms this week, companies ranging from high-growth tech companies to household names, are saying to me that they see Ireland as a vibrant and dynamic environment in which to do business. Today’s announcement that, supported by my Department, 9 high-growth companies have chosen to locate operations in Ireland with the creation of over 330 jobs is great news and a further endorsement of our plan. I wish them every success and am confident that we will see further announcements like this in the coming months”.

Commenting on the announcement, Dermot Clohessy, Executive Director of IDA Ireland said: “IDA Ireland has set up a specific division to focus on attracting these high-potential, high-growth companies to Ireland at an early stage of their development. Ireland’s reputation as a location for fast-growing businesses to expand into international markets continues to grow. We hope to have the next Amazon, Google and Oracle in this group of companies.”
