Limerick, 09th May 2012 – Minister for Finance Michael Noonan TD today announced that, ZMDI, a semiconductor company focused on energy efficiency, is establishing an R&D design centre in Limerick. The company will create 35 highly skilled engineering positions for graduates and technicians over 5 years, with the support of Government, through IDA Ireland.
The R&D centre will focus on the development of products for the smart power management sector, which is a key growth area driven by the demand for increased energy efficiency in data centre cooling, telecommunications and high-end computing.
Making the announcement Minister Noonan said “The addition of ZMDI to Limerick is a major endorsement of Ireland’s capabilities in the area of analog and mixed signal electronics and R&D. The company will provide excellent employment opportunities in the Mid –West region for talented engineering graduates and technicians.”
