Minister of State for Science & Innovation, Dr. Jimmy Devins TD, today (Friday 26th September 2008) joined with ProMinent Fluid Controls Ltd, in Sligo, to celebrate the company’s 10 years of highly successful production at its facility in Finisklin Business Park, Sligo. ProMinent internationally is a world leader in chemical fluid handling and water treatment solutions.

ProMinent in Sligo is involved in the production of solenoids for dosing pumps and hydraulic accessory equipment for the water purification industry worldwide. In order to remain at the forefront of this fast moving sector in today’s global marketplace, a significant increase in productivity has been achieved in the last two years at the Sligo facility. This has been realised through a programme of automation and efficiency arising from investment in new plant and equipment by ProMinent. The Sligo facility was established in 1998, with the assistance of IDA Ireland, and is located in a 24,000 sq ft (2,230 m²) building. It is a subsidiary of ProMinent Dosiertechnik GmbH, headquartered in Heidelberg, Germany.

The 10th anniversary celebration was attended by Dr. Rainer Dulger, Executive Vice President of ProMinent Dosiertechnik GmbH, who attended on his own behalf and on behalf of the Dulger family. The event was also attended by other key management members from headquarters in Heidelberg, and the local management team and workforce led by Stephen Conway, General Manager of the Sligo facility. Also attending were elected representatives, dignitaries and members of the business community in the North West region.

I also thank Dr. Dulger, and his colleagues from Germany, for their on-going investment in and commitment to this Sligo facility.”
