WHAT: The #IrelandBiz tweet chat, held by IDA Ireland, is designed as an interactive question and answer session to share insights on trends impacting business. The first tweet chat will focus on the vibrant tech scene in Ireland, particularly opportunities and challenges for companies considering international expansion.
WHO: Margaret Molloy (@MargaretMolloy) will moderate the conversation. Molloy is chief marketing officer of Velocidi, a startup digital agency based in New York City. She has been recognized as one of the “Most Influential U.S.-Irish American Leaders” by Business & Finance Magazine, “Top 100 Irish Americans in Business” by Irish America Magazine and “Top Ten CMOS on Twitter” by Social Media Marketing Magazine. She serves as a board member of the Irish International Business Network, and is an alum of Harvard Business School.
Molloy will pose questions to Barry O’Dowd, Head of Emerging Business at IDA Ireland, who will tweet from the Twitter handle @IDAIRELAND. O’Dowd is Senior Vice President of Emerging Businesses Division of IDA Ireland, the inward investment agency in Ireland. He is responsible for collaborating with companies looking to expand internationally by helping to facilitate the establishment and growth of business operations in Ireland. O’Dowd completed his master’s in strategic management at Trinity College Dublin, and is a barrister of law.
WHEN: The tweet chat will be conducted on Thursday, March 14th from noon to 1 p.m. EST, or from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. GMT.
WHY: As St. Patrick’s Day approaches, the holiday provides an opportunity to not only recognise Ireland's rich culture but also the progress it has made in fostering a supportive business environment. Participants will learn more about the growing tech ecosystem in Ireland, and what it means for business globally.
