Dublin, Ireland – 17th December 2009 – IDA Ireland today welcomed the announcement by Elavon, a wholly owned subsidiary of US Bancorp, that it is to purchase its Arklow business park site.
IDA CEO, Barry O’Leary, commenting said ‘the decision by Elavon / USBancorp to deepen its commitment to Ireland is a very welcome development. Foreign Direct Investment clients, through their positive experiences here, are continuing to strengthen their resources in Ireland ensuring their Irish operations and employees continue to play a strategic role in global markets’.
For eight years, more than 200 Customer Service, Operations and Information Technology professionals have occupied the building, previously through a lease agreement with the IDA. The Arklow Call Centre employees provide customer assistance for many of Elavon’s 250,000 pan-European merchants.
