Harris Corporation Opens New Irish Office to House the Worldwide Headquarters of Multiviewer Technology Operations

Dublin, August 23, 2009 – Harris Corporation an international communications and information technology company, is opening a new office in Ireland to house the worldwide headquarters of Harris Broadcast Communication’s multiviewer technology operations.  The Harris multiviewer operations have recently moved from the former Zandar Technologies office in Clondalkin, Dublin 12, to a new, larger Harris office in the Arena Building in Tallaght, Dublin 24.

Harris multiviewers combine superior graphics, scrolling video, integrated test and measurement tools and rugged, self-contained architecture to reduce the cost and complexity of large-system monitoring applications in mobile production and broadcast control rooms.

The new office houses a growing technology, sales and marketing operation, with pre- and post-sales engineering resources, along with administrative staff for accepting orders and structuring logistics.  A laboratory equipped with test equipment and service inventory allows Harris to better service its large and growing installed multiviewer solutions base.  The facility also includes conference and training rooms for Harris staff and customers.

“When Irish company Zandar Technologies was acquired in 2007, Harris completed its multiviewer portfolio by incorporating the Zandar technology and expertise into its existing R&D, technical and sales teams,” said Tim Thorsteinson, president of Harris Broadcast Communications. “For that reason, the Irish location became the obvious choice when it came to selecting a worldwide base for our multiviewer operation. The opening of the new Irish office confirms our strong commitment to our multiviewer customers.”
