IDA’s website – www.idaireland.com has been short listed for a Golden Spider Award in the category - Best use of film, digital animation or motion graphics
‘We are delighted to be nominated for this award and to find ourselves in such good company’ says Caitriona O’Kennedy from IDA Ireland.
The use of animation and video is a key part of IDA’s web strategy. The website has moved centre stage in our marketing of Ireland as a location for foreign direct investment and is an essential tool in telling the story of innovation in Ireland to the world.
IDA has partnered with a number of our clients – Microsoft, Facebook, Google, SAP Business Objects and most recently Big Fish Games Limited and provided a platform for these companies to tell the story of their Irish operations through the use of video.
IDA also collaborates with other partners to feature their video footage on the site such as IBM’s Smart Bay initiative and Alcatel Lucent's innovation activities in Ireland.
Exploration of other film genres is also evident in the ‘The Last Businessman’ video developed for our YouTube site and ‘The Irish mind’ documentary series on our micro site www.theirishmind.com
Motion graphics and animation techniques are used to communicate IDA’s activities in virtual worlds such as Second Life. A machinima sequence provides a window into the Showcase of Innovation in Ireland taking place in Dublin in Second Life.
The site is also home to our Innovation Ireland campaign – www.idaireland.com/innovation which incorporates IDA Ireland’s US broadcast advertising currently appearing on CNBC and Bloomberg TV.
