Coldplay get its Strawberry Swing on iPhone

Dublin headquartered independent mobile and web content platform Babelgum has entered the second phase of its partnership with Coldplay by launching a custom iPhone application.

The free Coldplay mobile application from Babelgum includes the brand new Strawberry Swing video along with the Coldplay video catalogue, a Coldplay news feed and a videogame.

Strawberry Swing premiered exclusively on Babelgum on 14 July and remains available to view online at www.babelgum.com/coldplay.

The video was directed by Shynola, a group of visual artists famous for their work with Beck (E-Pro), Blur (Crazy Beat), Junior/Senior (Move Your Feat), and Radiohead (Pyramid Song) to name a few.

Babelgum developed the multi-level game for its Coldplay application based on the video for Strawberry Swing, where users can help Chris Martin battle giant squirrels and sea monsters to rescue a princess.

The game is a surreal replica of the Strawberry Swing music video, which introduces Chris Martin as an animated superhero in a larger-than-life world drawn entirely in chalk.

The mobile application was developed by Babelgum especially for Coldplay fans and will remain as a live open channel with daily newsfeeds and updates. Babelgum is also launching a competition through its application to give mobile users an opportunity to win tickets and travel to see Coldplay on its current world tour in the US and UK.
