The Digital Hub is Ireland’s flagship project in the digital media sector.

The Digital Hub was established to support the development of innovative digital media enterprises with the potential to move the economy up the technological value chain. Located in the centre of Dublin, the Digital Hub provides state-of-the-art start up facilities and a community focused on knowledge, innovation and creativity for early stage, fast growth companies and established operators.

The Hub, incorporating the on-site National Digital Research Centre, is a centre for world-leading research and provides access to the creative, technological, research and education sectors in the development of digital media products. A combination of established companies and start up operations operate out of the Hub, providing services in a wide range of activities including animation, multimedia production, games, internet and mobile media technologies. Tenants at the Digital Hub include Amazon, France Telecom and Kavaleer.

Ireland has secured a reputation as one of the leading global locations for Foreign Direct Investment. One of Ireland’s best attributes for attracting FDI in the Entertainment and Media sector is the opportunity for investors to locate their operations in a large variety of locations right across the country.

Ireland’s main cities are Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Galway and Waterford and these cities have seen clusters of specific sectors grow up around them. However, IDA defines locations for investment in Ireland by region and as such there are nine regions covering all of the Republic of Ireland.

All of these nine regions have benefitted from FDI in Entertainment and Media as they all have the ability to meet the requirements of overseas investors. These requirements include access to a skilled and flexible workforce, the right management, financial and corporate skills, a highly developed industrial infrastructure and increasingly opportunities to partner with high-level development resources such as third level education and similar advance enterprises.
