Electronic GamesCompanies in Ireland include GOA (France Telecom), Popcap, Activision, Vivendi Games, Blizzard, Gala Networks, Havok and Demonware who are working in the areas of console games, casual games and mobile games.

What are the key activities?
- Google conducts Customer Support, Shared Services and Data Hosting activities
Google Ireland established its EMEA Head Quarters in Dublin in 2003. The headquarters grew rapidly, out-pacing its original expansion plans and now carries out the following activities: A site reliability/engineering team supporting Google’s European hosting and search activities; Multilingual customer support for Google’s AdWords advertising product; On-line relevancy testing and Google product support; Shared Services to support Google’s EMEA operations.
- AOL is engaged in Research and Development and Shared Services activities
AOL currently employs over 150 people within these 2 distinct operations based at Citywest Business Campus, Dublin.
Business Systems: The business systems team is responsible for billing, marketing support and report/registration systems for primarily European markets.
Applications R&D: The R&D centre has responsibility for a number of different core products for the US and European markets including the main search AOL product.
- Activision runs Technical Support, Supply Chain Management and Shared Services
Activision is one of the largest third party video games publishers in the world. A Games Localisation Centre is located in Dublin for the Interactive Entertainment sector of its non-US markets. The Dublin centre is responsible for the following: The release of Activision’s products in all territories outside the US; Driving and promoting the globalisation process and focusing on emerging market opportunities; Implementation of localisation strategies; Managing and coordinating digital assets; Quality assurance, quality standards and product testing
