Talent

There is a strong talent pool in the area of Life Sciences/Med Tech, Engineering and Customer Services.  Third-level education is provided by Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT), Institute of Technology Carlow (IT Carlow) and Limerick Institute of Technology (LIT) Tipperary, which offer a combined student population of approx. 16,000.

EDUCATION

Waterford Institute of Technology

As one of the largest third-level institutions in Ireland, WIT’s range of academic programmes is exceptionally extensive covering the Humanities, Health and Nursing, Science and Informatics, Engineering and Architecture, Business and Education. 

Institute of Technology Carlow

IT Carlow has over 5,000 full and part-time students. The college is dynamic, reflecting the needs of industry.  A good example of the latter has been the development of Financial Services courses in conjunction with BNY Mellon in Wexford.  IT Carlow has developed outreach facilities in Wexford (Wexford Campus) and Wicklow.

Limerick Institute of Technology

LIT Tipperary has two campuses, in Thurles and Clonmel, both of which are dedicated to providing high-quality education in a wide range of programmes mainly in the area of Multimedia and Computing.

Lifestyle

Known as the “sunny” South East, the region is famous for its vibrant towns, rural getaways and coastal villages and resorts. Waterford City is the capital of the Sunny South East of Ireland and Ireland's oldest city. It is also home to Waterford Crystal. For Arts, golf, water sports, equestrian, walking, angling and cycling enthusiasts the region offers it all.
