What are the key activities?
  • As part of its 2007 R&D investment, Intel Corporation set up a Technology Research for Independent Living (TRIL) Centre.  The centre, which is supported by IDA Ireland, will involve significant research capabilities to address the challenges of ‘independent living’ for older people.   • Analog Devices BV, established in Ireland in 1977, employs 1,400 with over 450 engineers designing and launching over 90 new products to market every year. Analog Devices is currently involved in three major collaborative research projects with third level institutes. What areas do these research projects cover?

  • As part of a €69 million investment in Ireland, Alcatel Lucent's Bell Labs, one of the world's most eminent research institutions, established its Centre for Telecommunications Value-Chain-Driven-Research (CTVR) in partnership with Trinity College Dublin. It acts as a corporate research headquarters that carries out its own programme of R&D and has a corporate mandate as a centre-of-excellence for value-chain-driven-research.
